I thought the book was beautifully constructed, and the last part (Heal) was my favorite. The heartbreak parts were occasionally truly hard to read, but I am grateful to the author for including them as they really made me feel something. I’d be interested in reading more from this author, and I don’t think she gives herself enough credit when she says (in the introduction) that she cannot write fiction.

Would recommend for: I’ve only glimpsed at Rupi Kaur’s writing in bookstores, but I have a feeling you might enjoy this if you like her poetry! I would LOVE to see a poetic piece of fiction from her… maybe a novel told in verse?Īll in all, a beautiful, heartbreaking read that I would love to have on my shelf as well. While some of them are better than others I really enjoyed This book is a book of many different poems. Most of them because they dealt with a lot of strong and powerful messages. They showed the highs and lows of the poets And while each poem wasĭifferent they fit together to form one large story of the poets life. The best part about thisįor me was the fact that while the poems all fit together to tell the story of her being but they were all different, Life and there is a bit about assault and rape that might not be for everyone in the middle. But, when it came to Nesta, what was Cassian if not a fool? As if the flush of her skin or twitch of her smile would tell him. But were there other people there? Was he there? He tracked every minor movement on her face, studied every inch of it to see if he could learn more. What else was in her dream? Was it just her and the cat? She'd surely like that. Who would do that? Did Nesta own the cat in her dream? Did she want a cat? It didn't surprise Cassian that she would like cats. What did the cat look like? Where was it going? It couldn't be running away from Nesta. The way his mind was suddenly racing, imagining what might be going through her own. Not if he'd instead get insight into that amazing mind, no matter how sleep-altered it might be. There was no way he was getting to sleep any time soon. Her brows furrowed slightly, and then she let out a mumbled, "No, kitty, don't go." Cassian felt his gaze widen as Nesta rolled herself slightly closer to him. Happy Monday! Hopefully this is something good on this most evil of days.
