You can see just a bit of a shadow where it has pulled away a little from the body. And you can see where the binding has shrunk away from the body just it bit. Take a look at the binding at the narrow spot between the bouts. As far as I can tell it has no cracks except for a small separation at the back of the headstock-nothing that will affect the guitar's playability or structure. He did not play it much, and although it shows some wear and the plastic shows the usual shrinkage and deterioration on the binding, it is in really good playable condition.You can see from the picture of the headstock that the finish shows some crackling, especially there, due to the age of the instrument. The guitar was owned by the same person from 1951 until 2009. I think the case started its life as an acoustic bass case, but it works well for the archtop because of the width of the bouts and the humidifier. But there's a little more length to the case than to the guitar. It's a Morgan Monroe with a humidifier in it.
I'll also include the case I bought for it. more brace The guitar is all solid wood- a real hand-carved spruce top and maple back and sides. Except, I think, for one screw in the pickguard.
